Massive Beverage Selection + Imaginative Pub Grub
From an imaginative and approachable variety of pub grub to enormous craft beer choices, cask-aged liquor and kegged wine options served in a family-friendly atmosphere—Coasters Taphouse definitely goes the extra mile.
Located at 5675 N. Atlantic Ave., the runner-up award at The Taste of the Space Coast last fall is proof a visit to this Cocoa Beach restaurant is a must!
The sister establishment to Coasters Pub and Biergarten in Melbourne, owners Dave and Wendy Swartz opened the second location last year. This month will mark the Cocoa Beach location’s first anniversary.
More than 700 antique coasters set in the bar top along with beer-related artifacts and a Hofbrau beer tower from Germany decorate the comfortable and cozy establishment which features a one-of-a-kind custom-made copper tap system. One of the few pubs in the state where hand-drawn cask ale is served, Coasters Taphouse offers top-notch international and U.S. microbrews and one of the Space Coast’s largest wine on tap selections. The kegged wine is never exposed to light or oxygen.
The exotic burgers are made with everything from camel, alpaca, elk and kangaroo meats, along with the traditional beef and vegan varieties.
Many of the appetizers and entrees were discovered during travel experiences by both Dave and his staff.
A favorite, the reggae shrimp, lightly breaded and tossed in a tropical, zesty curry sauce, was derived from a recipe Dave says he coaxed from the chef of a café he visited in Paris.
Other imaginative tapas samplings prepared by chef Cheyne Balbier include Buffalo cauliflower, fried green tomatoes and truffle and bacon deviled eggs. Appetizers range from $6 to $12.
Plenty of seafood entrees, fresh garden salads, burrito bowls and tacos, along with traditional pub-style chicken wings are also available. Entrees range from $10 to $30.
