From Pumpkins and Other Fall Favorites, See What Harvest Has to Offer

As the owner of Rockledge Gardens, Theresa Riley knows a thing or two about fresh produce. When asked about her favorite fall harvest fruits and vegetables, she had no problem rounding up a list of delicious and nutritional picks she looks forward to each season.

Besides pumpkins, here’s her list:

  • Arugula
  • Butternut squash
  • Edible flowers (nasturtiums, begonias, violas, marigolds, borage)
  • Kale
  • Lettuce (mixed baby greens WITH edible flowers)
  • Rainbow chard
  • Tomatoes

“Though we don’t grow apples, they are certainly on my fall harvest list. We go up to North Carolina several times during the season to bring them back.”

Didn’t know Rockledge Gardens was more than just a great place for picking up plants, statuary and gardening supplies? They’re also the go-to place for fresh greens through The Farm & Market branch of their business.

Located just across the street from the gardening center, The Farm is a 2-acre tract that uses natural methods for growing healthy, fresh food in season without harmful chemicals or pesticides in hydroponic Verti-Gro stacking towers, ground pots, lay-flat bags and raised beds.

The Market, which is open during the summer months, features The Farm’s crops as well as those of other local growers in Florida and North Carolina.
