Interior Stylings’ Shannon Reichel Shows You How to Get Three Terrific Looks for Your Home
Seeking a fresh, new direction this year regarding color scheme and personal home decor? You’re in luck because design consultant Shannon Reichel of Interior Stylings in Cocoa Beach has assembled three easy-to-replicate looks that convey the kind of style and ease that’s ideal for reflecting your unique Florida lifestyle.
1. Casual Coastal Blues — A palette of soft blue hues complemented with white and oatmeal tones creating a calm, breezy, coastal feeling.
For this look, designing a comfortable setting starts with a neutral sofa paired with toss pillows artfully balanced with a swivel chair in blue with white welting. Adding a colorful weathered credenza and a painted antique trunk for a cocktail table give the setting a relaxed, carefree island feel.
Thoughtfully placed accent pieces mimicking elements of the sea create a vision of sand between your toes, while beautiful shell studies on grasscloth and botanical coral reef prints bring the walls to life. Soft room lighting continues the obvious nod to the sea. Finally, tying the room together is a two-tone blue-gray rug.

2. Luxe Living — A modern take on classical pieces with sophisticated finishes for a glamorous setting.
Anchoring the room is a tufted-velvet tuxedo-back sofa in bronze featuring brass legs and finished with polished nickel nailheads partnered with a beige-gray chair adorned with matching nickel detail. A contemporary rug that’s stain-resistant provides a lasting element of luxury and durability at your feet.
Eye-catching drama is attained by mixing the gold and silver finishes of spiked etageres and matching cocktail table, both with quarried white marble. A gold-finished accent table with an antiqued mirrored top is perfect for adding a sense of sophisticated luxe.
Stylish curves are accomplished through the use of an Adelaide chest, providing storage with thoughtful details, while accent pieces by businesses such as Oly add interest without clutter to the room. Beautiful lighting coupled with upscale greenery contribute to the inviting atmosphere.

3. Wordly Expressions — A take on the eclectic world traveler featuring pieces with a mix of Asian, Moroccan and Indonesian influences.
In this example, a neutral sofa accented with soft oatmeal and gray pillows tossed over an inviting nubby organic throw creates a space to relax and enjoy the eclectic curated pieces that give this room character. Sit in the beautiful Japanese emperor’s chair while enjoying the interesting details of this amazing antique Mongolian buffet repurposed as an entertainment credenza. The metal smith’s brass-hammered drum cocktail table adds warm, inviting gold tones to complement the other elements in the room.
Small accent pieces such as the Marrakech drum side table made of teak and Moroccan leather ottoman pouf give the room a casual, laid-back vibe. Dressing the walls with mementos from our travels allows us to mix Louis Barr’s Barrels in Rincon on canvas with antique Chinese screens. To complete the look, finish the room off with a jute rug, antique accessories and greenery and florals.
